Arizona only consider if mattews has a extension
Chcago should push for a lower second
San jose should accept that

Fair offer for Logan. Unfortunately I don’t see Grier ever really trading him, a totally dedicated Shark and a good leader.

he would have to take this though, it would be dumb not to. His contract is not good and we’re getting out of it without any retention and pretty good value.

Arizona doesn't do that trade for one year of Matthews. Leafs or any team have no interest in four years of Couture especially at that price.

Great! His play isn’t predicated on speed so aging well shouldn’t be an issue. The last 2-3 years (excluding this year) looked worse because sharks put 4th liner/AHL tweeners on his lines, this year they gave him Barabanov and he rebounded quite well, give him 2 legit top 6 wingers and he would be a 30 goal 65p+ guy

Part of me says yes and part says no.
To maximize the tank and rebuild I want to, but understanding the importance of vet leadership with a very young core that’s is going to start integrating this year and next, and I say no. He will age fine and the contract isn’t an issue, hell the way it’s set up if we get smith or Carlsson they don’t play till next year for us and with the slide that contract would expire as that kid ELC expires.

Mathews is not worth that package, rofl, both player outscore mathews by 30+ points while having a similar cap hit and you add 12th OA in a deep draft rofl, if leafs trade mathews they will get a package similar to what Buf got for Eichel most likely minus tuch like player

I think his contract will be bad towards the end and we aren’t competing now so his contract being fine now doesn’t matter. Yes he’s the captain and his leadership is important, but we have other guys that can fill that role.
