I don’t think Nashville does this.

I’m not saying I disagree, I just wonder from a value standpoint only because of Fabbri’s cap-to-knee ratio.

Fair, as a Wing fan I’d be okay with it. If Nashville has their plan set and this was the move then great.

I like all the moves here? Still get to restock the cupboards but also get better.

I don’t fully see the direction tho. Is it a rebuild? Is it an attempt to get 2 home playoff games?

I think it’s continue to stockpile assets and young talent but also set a pace to compete in like 2 years when all the good prospects are giving you really good production on ELCs and bridge deals

I can see that. I assume there would be some additional cap moves to capitalize on that space. I don’t hate this at all.

It’s the Johanssen move that gets me thinking tho. IDK if anybody would take him, especially if the cap stays flat.

Fills 2 holes temporarily for Detroit. I don't hate it. I guess I'd eat the turd sandwich. I like Fabbri but he rarely plays.

Durzi will get a 1st round pick. I doubt he'll get a 1st round pick alone, but I can see LA sending a 3rd with him and getting that Oilers 1st.

Others value DurI higher than me, but I think his flaws keep him from getting a 1st by himself.

I’m gonna be very interested to see what he gets. I don’t think he gets a 1st, but I’m not willing to put money on that. I do think a 2nd and 3rd is a fair offer to start things off.

If a 40 point right handed defenseman capable of playing both sides and running a team's #1 PP doesn't return a 1st, I don't know what does.

He's got his flaws, sure, which is why I think LA would need to send a lower pick back. But if a team was acquiring Durzi, they're looking for a specific set of talents that he provides very well.

I guess where I’m at is that if you need to add a balancing pick to upgrade the return to a 1st, it’s unlikely that will materialize. Teams will probably hold the first and give away the lower picks, it’s a 2-way street.

Those 1st RD picks now have a prospect in a GM’s eye rather than a thought of lifting the cup like they did at the TDL.

Whereas I think there's a significant enough value drop between +1st/-3rd versus +2nd/+3rd that I don't think LA accepts the second offer. Like you said, it's a two way street.

My targets for a Durzi trade are teams that have multiple firsts and don't want to do a full rebuild. St Louis is at the top of my list, if they can move one of Krug or Faulk. Nashville seems like a good option as well because they simply can't move their huge salary players and Saros/Josi are too good to tank. They'd also still be getting one of those 1st RD prospects that you mention with their better pick.

Definitely the targets I was thinking of too. But yeah, I guess we’ll see on what he goes for.

Agreed with the Wings fans here, I like the idea of Detroit getting Barrie, they get a RHD who can play PP.

My one thought would be there needs to be some value add or salary retained to take on 2 more years of Johansen at $8 Mil, especially with extensions for Seider and Raymond coming up.

Zadina only makes $1.8 and Fabbri $4, so Wings would be taking on about $6 Mil, where as bad/hurt as both the Wings players have been, they are on reasonable contracts.

We have alot of cap as long as we don't spend a whole bunch more on free agents or in trades. It won't hurt the extensions.
