I'm confused by all the Ross Colton proposals, am I missing something? Dude's 26, used on the 3rd line, sure he hit 20 goals last year but he's never topped 40 points, and with his age & career arc I don't see him suddenly going supernova. But proposals with him in them consistently ask for the sun and the moon in return.
Maybe you could pry Girard away from the Avs as part of a cap dump so they would have room to re-sign Byram, but even then Tampa would need to add more than a 25-year-old <0.5 ppg AHLer.

I read something about him at The Athletic and I think it has to do with him needing to be paid and the Bolts having no cap space. They spent a lot to get Jeannot so he's a priority and they have a bunch of other roster spots to fill. He could also be redundant for the Bolts with Paul playing 3C and signed long-term. I don't think Colton is a bad target for the Avs but they can't afford to spend much.
