If I'm Detroit I'd rather trade the seconds we have for guys like Pionk, Calen Addison, etc than a 30 year old bottom pair guy

Thats way too much to give up for him

Not my teams to give thoughts on but I don't understand calling Murphy a bottom pair player personally

Hawks don't make that Murphy trade. Not nearly enough value from their standpoint. And the only two UFA's from your list the Hawks might go after are Domi and Patches. They'll only sign 2 or 3 UFA's max.

He averaged less than 20 mins per game on an actively tanking Hawks team. 3rd most on the team. The year before when Chicago was just bad but not actively tanking he was 5th.

Detroit is bad but not actively tanking. He wouldn't be top 4, so he's a bottom pair guy.

Pionk and Addison would be much better second pair level guys

Out of those three you listed I would do Pionk, Murphy then Addison in that order. Murphy could be a decent partner for Edvinsson but the price would have to be right.

The UFA pool is horrible this season and spending money like you propose to do here will set the rebuild back 2-3 years.

why do you want to battle for the 7/8 playoff spot to end up finishing 9/10 ?
