Canucks accept. They don't need and can't afford Marner. However, they get Liljegren, Abruzzese, a 3rd, and a 4th for just a 2nd, then they can flip Marner for a better return than what they would have got for both Boeser and Garland.

Valuing Boeser at a 2nd and Garland at a 3rd, the deal becomes:

2nd + 3rd for Liljegren
2nd for Abruzzese + 3rd
Marner + 4th for free

Then we can easily flip Marner for a 1st plus a solid prospect at minimum.

At the TDL you get a lot more than that with cap retention.
