Just gonna say this, what kind of hockey fan doesn't want to play for any of the original 6 teams?! Those are the biggest hockey markets in the league. Gotta go with teams that are small market or low budget teams

Arizona
Anaheim
Ottawa (even though they should be considered an original team)
Winnipeg
San Jose
St. Louis
Minnesota
New Jersey
Dallas
Washington

All Canadian teams and the 3 worst teams in the league (besides the one I am on, in the case that I am on one).

If you consider that players with with trade restrictions are older, then it changes from player to player.
Teams like Arizona, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton have the worse travel schedule. Actually if the Central and Pacific divisions are poor travel schedule.
An "East Coast" player, may not like many teams in the west, just for family and friends consideration....especially if they have spouses and children.
Montreal may/may not be a pain in a player has a working spouse and/or children to the Quebec's language restrictions.

So, my "non favourites". (as a single guy from Ontario) Arizona, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, Dallas, Colorado. (just for the travel). Columbus, Philadelphia,....just for the current teams.
Minnesota (weather). and St Louis.....fill out my top ten.

It used to be cost-of-living…or being close to family. Then taxes seemed to become the thing. Now, travel schedule appears to be more of a factor post-COVID.

I never know so many CapFriendly followers say taxes are such a big thing in Canada. Never hear complaints from MLB or NBA players playing in Toronto. High priced players don't pay a lot in personal income tax....they are corporations....entertainers. Now there might be a different state to state as US Federal tax rules which affect American based players.
If I was player, gee, I would love to based in New York or New Jersey. That Atlantic division is very cozy for travel.
