The basic thinking of these moves is that Keller is a great player and having a guy as insurance in case something happens with Aho when resigning time comes is very nice. Hellebuyck probably isn’t staying with the Jets, we know NJ and Buffalo are in on him. I’m sure they can give better deals but a good goalie prospect for the rebuild, plus a decent winger, a really good d prospect, and a 1st seems fair to me. The Marner trade probably isn’t good if I’m being honest, that one was more for fun. I do think he could thrive in Carolina though since it’s a smaller market and the pressure isn’t as intense plus having Svech, Aho, and Marner on a line could have insane potential

I’d love to get Patches back on a “show me you’re healthy” deal (something like 2x2) but I’m not sure he agrees to that. If we get him back, then Puljujarvi probably gets dropped.

Keller is of 0 insurance for Aho. None of this makes any sense really.

Our contender window just shut and Keller would be the only one on the team passed 24-25.

Puljujarvi isn’t my favorite but I think that with some conditioning with Rod over the off-season and him using the body more, he could be a really good 3rd-4th liner. He has the body size and I think there’s still some potential there but I’m okay if we don’t keep him, I just don’t think he give up on him this fast after getting him at the deadline.

I’ve really liked Ghost’s game, I think he definitely has had some shortcomings but it’s been reported before that it takes a little longer for players to pick up the Carolina system and I think the longer he’s been here, the better he’s been.

Also, we have KK, Svech, Kochetkov signed pretty long term. Not saying they’re the best players in the league, but they can be solid players to help keep the framework of the team and I think you definitely could use some guys with longer term here, especially overlooked stars like Keller. Keller is phenomenal and the only reason more people aren’t talking about him is because he’s stuck in Arizona.
