Wow....Caulfied at 10m. You've overpaid in $$$$ and to acquire him. Gee, just spend 10m on a UFA, this year or next.

A little much for someone who produced unsustainably. I like TK, but Philly are going to want too much for his production

Or I can do what I did. No good UFA’s this year and next year any big names will go elsewhere. Price is fine

What would be ur offer to make the trade work? A pick instead of suzuki? Keep suzuki and take 2nd away? I agree the Flyers will ask for an overpay for TK but after watching ECF it is probably worth it for you guys. If TK put up those numbers on the Flyers, even if slightly unsustainable percentages, what would he be able to do on a much better team?

Issue is that TK is going to regress. He was shooting well above his career average in terms of shooting percentage. Would rather have someone like Keller or even Tarasenko. Ideally, I don't mind losing Suzuki and the 1st, but the 2nd and Drury on top of that is probably going to make Carolina balk

I disagree on him regressing. He talked all summer/season about changing his game and watching analytics to become basically a different player this season and being in different spots on the ice and taking different shots. His averages are up because he was in better spots and taking better shots. He’s also on a bad team so I don’t think he would regress going to a real contender. Also at the end of the day you guys are division rivals so I don’t think Danny would let him go for less than 1st Suzuki Drury if he goes to Carolina. Thanks for ur insight tho!

Even if you want to say it's because of a better positioning, he's shooting at 15%. Very few people can keep that up.

I agree with you on that. I just think everyone saw the new and improved TK this year that will continue to work on his game and improve. Think anyone who gets him will be very surprised with what he looks like on a true contender

I know I tried that but it kept giving me an error when trying to submit it and I didn’t feel like figuring out why it was tweaking

PHI don't have their 2024 2nd round pick, so they can't offer sheet Caufield

They could easily get that pick back in the trade of TK to Carolina I just don’t feel like editing the team to make it happen.

I was just saying how to do it and yes, PHI would need to own their 2024 1st, 2nd & 3rd round pick
MTL would match any offer sheet for Caufield unless MTL receive the next 4 1st round pick of that team

Would it really be wise for PHI to make an offersheet like that where they give up unprotected 1sts? I mean those 1sts have a high probability of being lottery selections..

Just going to say this, Montreal would match that and if the Flyers did OS CC then the Hart trade doesn't happen for sure.

Also you are over the cap but don't realize it cause you traded DeAngelo so itdoesnt show his cap hit but since you said it was a deadline deal you are over the cap.

No idea tbh it’s risk vs reward for sure man. All I saw was it was being reported out of Montreal that the Flyers were looking into it

DeAngelo could easily be sent somewhere else before the deadline for free or even as a cap dump since they stack picks here. If Montreal matches then so be it. Half the Habs fans said that’s an offer pay in AAV for him so either Flyers get him or Habs overpay him. Win win for flyers. And if they complain about the offer sheet and turn away Hart the Flyers can easily trade him to plenty of other suitors that want a goalie like LAK, OTT, EDM, etc.

Ok, so your being unrealistic now cause you don't like the comments you're getting, gotcha. The Canes couldn't move DeAngelo at the deadline but somehow you propose to move him "easily" in the offseason? BTW if you are planning on "paying to dump" him it costs a 1st which means you can no longer OS Caufield. See how this goes round and round? It never ends its why OS are so uncommon

Even with the retention I don't see teams as likely to be queuing up to give up their '23 1sts for Hayes. Maybe the '24 but not the '23, but I could also be wrong.

2024 works too. I mean making Hayes a $3.5M is ridiculous value for a team in a cap crunch

Okay then Flyers don’t trade for Murray. And don’t bury him in the AHL that saves $3.5M. Retain DeAngelo at 50% to make him $2.5M and ship him somewhere for a late round pick. Then you have about $1M in cap space left over. See how that works? It’s math, crazy for you I know. Even if we don’t do that, Flyers can dump him for the 2023 Boston 1st then all $5M is gone. See how that works? Crazy for you I know.

You need to learn to take constructive criticism better rather than getting all sparky and sarcastic. I will put this in the simplest terms possible for you my friend.

The Flyers aren't going to submit an OS for Caufield and if they do it has to be 10.73 Mil or higher for it to not be matched. If you are not going to offer that then it will just continue to get matched and you will get reamed out for it on here.

It would take more than that to OS Caufield. Probably a 4 first offer. Mtl has the cap to match
