No, in this deal he's added a a piece that theoretically has value. If it was just for Helly he'd be a throw in, but the piece would need to be a lot better if you want Lowry as well. You're probably just overvaluing prospects.

Krebs is compensation for the Jets waiting a year for the 1st and UPL has very little value, so there is nothing added for Lowry.

The thing with the Canucks that differentiates their cap problems from other teams is that they aren’t actively over the cap. If teams are gonna ask for a fortune to take on their players, they can just keep everyone and move into next season with their current roster. Moving guys like Myers, Garland, or Boeser is just to create cap space to improve the team. If it’s really gonna cost that much, then the Canucks will just hold on to Myers for one more year until his deal expires.
