DeSmith has zero value to Boston. Sending a goalie back is lazy.

Rust is not needed. Pretty well set at wing.

Poulin can’t produce in AHL.

The 1st is nice. And the first piece for Swayman…if they were to trade him. Big if. Rest…not interested.

If Hall gets traded it’s to clear cap. This not only does not it makes it harder for Boston to actually clear cap that they need to.

Okay and? Why would Chicago want to do that trade. To get better? Bedard? Just sign players. No reason to downgrade

And is widely regarded as the worst trade of last year. Granlund costs atleast a 2nd to dump

You have Vezina goalie.

You clear millions in this trade and get backup, 1st and Poulin and Rust/Hall is flip.

Bedard needs good players right away

Granlund would be one of teams highest scorers.

As I just said just sign in the free agents. Reichel will do fine with him as well. No point of this trade.

We have the #2 goalie in the AHL last year who is same age as Sway, ready, and cheap, to take over as backup. We clear nothing in cap in this deal.

Rust/Desmith/POJ 7.8m

Hall 6m. Sway unsigned. As of now no cap hit. So we’d actually be adding to the cap as opposed to moving Halls entire 6m which either his or Ullmarks need to be moved without taking cap back along with Reilly and Forbort and possibly 1 more.

It’s a massive fail that does nothing for Boston at all other than hinder them.

You want to do the ‘24 1st and Poulin for Ullmark. Fine. A 2nd and Pickering for Ullmark. Fine. If Ullmark is willing. Go for it.

But you don’t have the piece Bs are looking for in a Sway trade other than this years 1st which Pens are not doing. With his age and no trade protection he has a much better chance of returning something of need. There is also zero desire to move him though. 🤷🏻‍♂️

What are we getting for that 3rd? A Rebuilding team who is taking on cap dumps and getting paid to do so doesn't go and buy a guy in which most ACGM are trying to get rid of.

Everyone knew that Granlund trade was bad the moment it happened. And, now, he is widely considered a bad contract that PIT will be desperate to move, in order to create cap space and still be competitive while their aging stars are still around.

If Granny was a good player, the Pens wouldn't be so anxious to get rid of him. He's obviously a player who's performance is starting to decline. No GM is going to pay the Pens to acquire him.

He is a good player when in a scoring role. The Pens don’t have that for him. In Chicago he is a top 6 scoring F.

No team is going to pay for what they think he could be. The current value is worked out based on past performance partially but the most important factors are current performance and situation. You aren't getting your money back (2nd) for him. The best outcome is that you keep him and he finds some form. Failing that, its likely that you will be required to pay to move his salary if you need flexibility (unlikely).
