Hang on... these are coming from the GM of WPG??? If so, stop, you are fired.

The PHA deal is NOT good for WPG.

The MTL deal is GREAT for WPG, but MTL would hang up on you and tell you to stop. To get Dach, you would need to have PLD and WPG's first or a top player / prospect and / or more.

The NYR deal is good for WPG. Doubt NYR goes for it.

The BUF deal is okay.

Dach is a middle 6 forward who had worse even strength production than jesper boqvist. If you really want 20 even strength points the devils will happily trade you boqvist who's much better defensively

Dach's upside is much greater than Boqvist. The Jets need to get bigger.

Phi accepts
NYR decline and does not make a ton of sense for WPG either given the risk with Laf
I like the BUF/WPG one for both sides
NJ should accept but they wouldnt bc of mercer
I think the MTL/WPG deal is fair despite what others say here.

Rangers pass, Scheifele is over the hill and has a horrible contract. Rangers aren’t trading a former first over all and a 1st for him

Buffalo just is not doing that. They just acquired Greenway because they believe in him. they won’t be parting with him so soon. I don’t see why they would ever want Wheeler at this point in his career anyway.

Boqvist is a WAY better skater. Like an elite level skater. If he develops better puck skills (probably a bit too late for that but maybe a change of scenery could help) he could legit be a top 6 player easily. Dach is obviously worth more bc of age, but Dach isn't close to being worth PLD+

The deal doesn't make a ton of sense from the Sabres perspective. They traded for Greenway to inject some size, grit and defensive ability into their forward group with the belief that there is untapped potential there given his history with Granato. Greenway is a type of player they don't really have an equivalent to in their line-up. They have a handful of guys with some size, but most don't utilize it in the way Greenway has shown a willingness to do. Tradign him and a top 40 pick for a rental who is going to be 37 years old is a poor use of assets when they have bigger holes to fill on their roster.

Yes..... Jesper Boqvist 21 points in 70 games is definitely the same level as Dachs 38 points in 58 games.

I like the "elite level skater" part, but the Jets need to get bigger. Getting Boqvist at all would be a good pickup for WPG, but the price would have to be right. I don't discount Boqvist and he would get opportunity in WPG, but I would still have Dach over PLD and Boqvist.

Dach got PP1 time (also played mostly with caufield and suzuki), Boqvist got PK time. Wonder which one of those gets more points

Lets look at their stats 5 on 5 for a more even comparison:
Dach: 18 points in 813 minutes (8g 10a)
Boqvist: 21 points in 763 minutes (10g 11a)

You could probably get boqy for a 3rd tbh if we keep yegor. (I'd rather we trade yegor tho tbh just bc boqvist speed fits better with our playstyle)

Jesper also played on one of the highest scoring teams in the league that played a run and gun transition style, not on one of the worst offensive teams in the league that had no scoring away from one line. It's not really an even comparison to use 5 on 5 either when Dach is one of three actual players that are threats and is targeted with defensive match ups, Boqvist just gets to cruise behind Hughes, Bratt, Mercer, Meier, Hishcier and probably some other one I'm forgetting about.

Dach is miles more valuable than Boqvist, age, production and actual importance to his team.

Jesper also played primarily starting in the dzone and played with worse linemates (most common linemates for Dach were Caufield and Suzuki). Boqvist better defensively, equal at producing offensively 5 on 5, kills penalties. Dach is ONLY better on the powerplay

Dach played the harder minutes against tougher match ups on a much worst team and still out produced your guy by 17 points in 12 fewer games, reality is that NJ would be adding multiple first round picks to Boqvist if they wanted Dach and literally any NHL would tell you the same.

Have fun in whatever reality you're in though

Ahh yes, those tougher matchups. Dach really had it tough playing 200 minutes on the power play. Those are real tough matchups when you have an extra player on the ice

Dach isn't worth multiple 1sts alone lmaooo. Ranked 356th in 5 on 5 scoring, tied with elite players such as: Jonathan Drouin, Lars Eller, and Matt Martin among others.

The analytics say they faced extremely similar competition 5 on 5 while dach had much better linemates. But try again next time

Buffalo runs the other way; Wheeler has a lot of red flags floating around him and we want nothing to do with him.

Lol you came back multiple times, to quote the same comment.

Also love how you only use 5 on 5 point production as your excuse. It's as sad as Leaf fans telling people Mathews is better than McDavid.
