The cap will make a big jump in 2024 so its not a big deal IF you can get it done by sliding a few spots that one thing but the Leaf's need to refill the prospect pool.

Disagree; leafs can 100% buy him out; that was always a possibility when we traded for him. Not preferred but much better than wasting a 1st rounder to dump him; that’s just insane - typical nonsense from rival (jealous) fans

Easy peasy; I already posted a team for next year. Using that same team, in 24-25 - Matty gets a raise to $13M, Willy to $9M and Lili to $3.5M . Total of $5.3M. Brodie contract ends and we re-sign him (or similar bet FA) for $2M ($3M savings). Total increase of $2.3 in salary + $2M buyout of Murray = $4.3M. Cap going up to $87.5M in 24-25, an increase of $5M so no worries

I posted the 23-24 team (600 K penalty). In my comments above I explained how to put together a team in 24-25. I’m not going to post that, not ready yet but it can be done

The cap is expected to really jump in 24/25 so they can make it work
