Can't speak for Detroit fans but as a Flames fan; Vladar is younger, his sv% is incredibly skewed by Flames shot suppression so generally the ones they get passed him are pretty high quality goals, he's signed for dirt cheap for 2 more years, he nearly stole the starting job from a recent Vezina finalist (albeit Markstrom was not playing at a Vezina level), he is absolutely capable of being a 1A/1B goalie, and he has an S tier nickname. Understand that if Calgary didn't need to move cap out to be compliant, as well as have the best goalie prospect in the league who is NHL ready now they would not consider moving Vladar.
As for Ned, that was just an unexpected failed experiment IMO. I look at Colorado and how well Georgiev did there after being an absolute train wreck the year before. I look at how Adin Hill as done in Vegas this year and specifically in these playoffs too. Ned was given the reins and faceplanted, kind of like Petersen in LA. IMO he probably just needs a change of scenery.
