Anaheim has no interest in any of those players — no deal

Any Gibson trade starts with a 2023 first. You can argue that it ends there -- that's an opinion that's shared by many -- but that's where it starts. That potpourri is just the perfect example of "quantity vs. quality." Not one of those players is noticeably better than his comparable on the Ducks, and that's saying something.

I don't think it starts with a 2023 1st because if it's true that he wants a change of scenery it's very likely he's going to get dealt either way. That being said I could see Dubas giving the 15th OV if he's getting Gibson+the 34th. There would be other pieces involved too of course.

Foegele vs Carter

Warren Foegele is worth every penny of what would be $1,187,500 more than Jeff Carter.

Last season it was also "reported" he asked for a trade, turned out that was false. Sports media has an absolute fetish for Gibson trades, we'll give it a few days to see how things shake out.

I'm guessing if there were a trade between these two teams a large contract is going back the other way, Granlund is probably the easiest to move but if I'm not mistaken he would just be a pure cap dump in the trade since he fills no need.

Assuming Petry would waive, do you guys think ANA could use him even if Shattenkirk is resigned? He's not worth his 6M cap hit (neither is Gibson arguably) but still a good player despite his age.
