The hardest of passes on that Arizona trade. Neither of those guys provide anything that couldn't be had on the open market

Los Angeles will trade you Cal Petersen for Jeff Carter straight up -- no need for retention or a draft pick. And unlike every other Jeff Carter trade I've seen, JC will waive his NMC this time because LA will promise to buy him out. He won't even have to leave Pennsylvania to sign the papers or make a press appearance. And you won't have to sign Semyon Varlamov.

LA read this idea and quickly sent Peterson to Philly to avoid any unnecessary Jeff Carter-ness

That’s fair I honestly didn’t even know they just resigned him or knew who he was before round 1. I like his game, they have a good one I think.
