Description
- What does Columbus think of Jake Bean? I see him as a lesser version of Grzelcyk but younger and cheaper. I saw a Columbus post where they traded him for nothing. Has he been that bad for Columbus? He has one year left which would allow for an additional year of Lohrei development in the AHL if he isn't ready. If he is ready, it's a one-year commitment to Bean and that's it.

- Ullmark trade comes down to money and him vs. Swayman. Swayman is the future in net and Ullmarks value is as high as it will ever be. Moving him makes room to re-sign Bertuzzi as well. We also have to add Center depth and an upside player at the position. Turcotte isn't worth his 5th overall pick value anymore but if he can stay healthy and grow under a couple of veteran centers I like his future. I'd definitely understand wanting to keep the asset and attempting to re-sign Korpisalo instead.

- I see a lot of Ullmark to LA trades and a lot involving Turcotte. What's a reasonable deal involving the 2 assets? I don't think goalies are worth 1st round picks even coming off of a historic season like Ullmark but a 3 and a young player needing a change of scenery seems fair I think.

Why would boston want bean? He is awful defensively and is charmin soft. He doesn’t match boston’s play style.

He also isn’t waiver eligible. So you would trade for a guy who may need more development but then have put him through waivers to get it. And add in that eats cap space to do too

Bean's had a rough go in Columbus. I think fans are overly harsh on him because he doesn't fit the model of a normal defenseman.

He shows eager engagement and his skating is a real weapon. He was one of the more effective entry defenders on Columbus but struggled under the weight of Columbus' awful breakouts under Brad Larsen. The same system that got Gavrikov pilloried by the public only for him to look like a game changer in LA. This past year he looked a bit better at moving the puck up ice and especially took charge with carries in the neutral zone. Unfortunately he was injured just after being given the top-role after Werenski's injury.

Bean has had to play on his off-side above his head(on a pair with Werenski), been anchored to Erik Gudbranson or injured.

His injury history is not pretty and has come at a very critical time in his development. He's in a make or break spot with Columbus but on a better coached team I could see him making some headway. He'll never be a crease clearer but his feet are an asset he can use to be disruptive in the neutral zone.

This is one of the better ACGMs ive seen

Thats the exact trade for Ullmark I had in mind

Forbs trade seen everywhere on ACGM and seems fair

dont hate the CBJ trade, apparently Beans not very well liked in CBJ, maybe replace him w Peeke, either way, wouldnt be totally against it

All of those FA signings are pretty accurate imo, maybe Sway gets a bit more $

Overall very well done

Not going to jump the gun too much here because he's only 22, but Turcotte has shown me nothing that says he can be a top-6 center in the league right now. I see him as a Coyle-esc player which certainly isn't bad, but I'd be looking for a guy with a bit more potential if I'm trading away the reigning Vezina winner

I see Turcotte as someone who needs a change of scenery and opportunity in the NHL. LA’s C depth is pretty deep and I don’t see Turcotte getting a full time spot any time soon.

If it works out, BOS has their future 1C & 2C in Turcotte and Poitras. I think that’s a good gamble to take.

Replace the Pittsburgh third with Sean Walker and Los Angeles can say Yes. Otherwise, LA's cap situation precludes this.
