Would anyone trade a pick for this guy? personally i think he could only get moved for a similar contract with term left.

His contract drags his value down, but we could still get like a 4th and logan Stanley or something along those lines. Maybe a 3rd+4th if teams aren't willing to give up a player.

I don't understand why he has such low value. His ES production was down this last season, but it was still at least solid top 9 levels. He's solid defensively even if undersized. Doesn't have durability issues. I would think fair value is at least a 2nd.

I love this guy, but in a cap world where RyJo and Hayes value at less money was essentially zero, I'm guessing he doesn't bring much back. Vancouver has been rumoured to be shopping him and it hasn't happened. I'd suppose if teams were offering a second, it would have happened by now.
I think he'd be worth it if you have size in your top six already. Teams just aren't adding cap right now. Maybe if someone strikes out in free agency they circle back.

he is not great defensively. Cant play him on the PP and hes too small for 95% of teams top 6s

Reilly Smith is basically the comparable if Canucks are waiting to move on

I think some folks here are underselling Garland by a good bit. The reason his value was so low was Vancouver's cap situation. Now that OEL has been bought out, Garland's value is restored to some extent. Of course he's still not going to get full value without some retention because of the contract.

I don't think his value is that high and it's lower because of Vancouvers current cap situation being tight too.

Could see him being dumped for a late pick, or a bad contract coming back or a low level NHLer that is youngish in return,

He's not severely overpaid, he does produce fairly formidable even strength metrics, particularly offensively. Doesn't provide much in terms of defense, but isn't a stand-out liability the way a Patrik Laine, Mike Hoffman, Mark Scheifele, or a Blake Wheeler is. I think what puts a dagger in Garland's trade value is that he doesn't excel on either special team's, so despite being pretty strong at even strength, the fact that it's hard to reconcile him playing a defined role on a roster when he isn't a go-to candidate for either special teams, COMPOUNDED by the fact that he's undersized, it's hard to envision a better fit for him on a roster outside of being a play-driving winger on a team's third line, something of which GMs would rather not spend close to 5M in cap space on. If Garland were on the market today, I still see him getting a contract that pays him in the low 4M dollar range annually, just because he does bring a relatively credible bottom line when it comes to even strength offense.

I don't like to throw around 100%, but 100%.

This is not even a comparable. Smith is leaps and bounds better than Garland.

Garland value is, ZERO.
