Toronto has no interest in doing that deal. Moving Murray will be much easier than that (as every trade in the NHL constantly teaches us)

Los Angeles isn't ABOUT to trade either Kupari or a second for Edmundson and increase the Kings' cap hit while doing so. Why do you think that we made that trade yesterday? Because we have cap to burn?

Like moving Petersen just cost a second round pick and a very good prospect on top of substantial retention on Provorov. This isn't that different

Look at the Petr Mrazek trade 1st year! Or Leafs can buy out Murray/bury him

You mean for the 1st round pick three years away from the time of the trade that had 47 conditions on it?

And got a 2nd pick back that was 13 draft selections later.

don't really care. a first is a first is a first is a first especially when the goalie is making almost a million dollars more

I wouldn't give a 3rd for Edmundson (50%) retained. Everyone who watched him last season can attest.

To be fair, it was also the Sean Walker contract (while not a dump cuz he's a very useful player, still a redundant contract on LA's roster). Kind of downplaying the amount of cap space that the Kings got from the move.

But I think if Toronto isn't sending back a useful player, that's probably about right for the dump cost.

However, your LA trade is completely unrealistic. Edmundson with half retained might get you a 3rd round pick. Maybe. Certainly not both Kupari and a 2nd. He might have been Montreal's worst defensive player last year.

lmfao the fact is that the leafs gave up a first to move mrazek at 3.4 million, it's going to cost more to move Murray who makes 4.6 million

you can't erase history just because it hurts your feelings

On top of which, the cap is expected to significantly rise in 2024, and the buyout for Murray would only cost 2 million in cap space that year. Is 2 million in cap space the season after the next worth a first? I doubt it.

And placing him in the minors would still be a few million on the cap this year, but he’s probably the best 3rd stringer in the league, lol.

And got a high second back... Also, Murray is cheaper to buy out and is only 1 year
