I'm so confused, whats the point of signing Monahan to a 4mill aav contract when you acquired Granlund to be your fourth line RW???? Can't you just make Granlund ur 3rd line C and not sign Monahan lmao

Don’t see why the Avs would move Girard for a mediocre 3C, a mediocre 3rd pairing dman, and a 3rd round pick

OK you never saw Eddy playing when he was healthy... he is not a dump/mediocre... he is what you need on PK and in your zone to move forward in playoff.

If Montreal is willing to retain 2M on Dvorak, then I think Colorado is interested if a reasonable futures package gets it done. I don't think they are interested in giving up Girard in favor of Edmundson though, so this isn't the right deal imo.

No, it's just the fact that no team is going to add the value needed to balance the trade. Hart won't be traded unless a team absolutely 100% overpays for him. And since that usually doesn't happen with goalie trades, proposing trades is like a fools errand kinda.

It's not that a different player would be preferable. It's more that I think the Avs are happy with their D and will try to keep them intact (i.e. they wont want to move Girard). Doing so requires some value in the middle six, which is why Dvorak makes sense, but only if they can get him for picks/prospects. And quite frankly, I'm not sure Colorado has the right pieces.
