Description
Yeah I know Hall probably doesn’t have Detroit on hood list but the deal really could be with any team and the pucks could move around depending on where in a round they are drafting.

I think his worth is something like a late 2 early 3 and either a depth prospect on a 2 way deal or later pick.

Detroit have too many middling left wingers as it is and isn't going to trade for another one.

Ducks pass. No real reason to give up a 2nd round pick at this point for a guy that's a year away from free agency. It's not like the return would be much better (if at all...) at the deadline.

Absolutely not saying that he isn't worth a 2nd from someone, it just doesn't make a ton of sense for Anaheim in their current timeline to do it. In all likelihood, they'll (hopefully) get paid by someone to take on a dump, or do something similar to Kulikov last year, which was for FC.

I am interested in Hall but I am not certain I’d make a move for him in this exact deal. Two years at $6m for his production is steep. Maybe a 3rd & 5th, tops.

DET and ANA likely decline, and Ullmark's 16 team NTC stops the CBJ trade

but u did a good job of clearing a lot of cap space

also Lysell and Lohrei aint NHL ready

He could play top line with Larkin. Has great speed and play making. He was a beast in the playoffs. His production dipped this year since he was playing third line a bunch. I think I would do this deal

I don't know...

Taylor scored 0.59 PPG. Fabbri scored 0.57 and Kubalík 0.56 and Rasmussen 0.52. Even Berggren with his limited icetime scored 0.42.

Hall is only under contract for two more years and we won't be contending for those two years after which he will be 33 years old and we're unlikely to recouperate what we paid for him.

I'd rather offer Bertuzzi a contract should he become UFA.

I get that. Hall is a top line LW and his point totals don't say it because he was limited in his roll with Boston. Just shows their depth. A trade like this and also my Tanev Backlund trade we discussed in the other thread are just deals to try and get this team on a bit more of a winning stretch. Not trying to pay to make the playoffs but just be an overall better team so that the players don't get discouraged by losing. We took a step this year but still not enough in my opinion. I think a price can be paid to help boost team confidence and development, it should pay off in the long run. Also I think Hall, if traded either this deadline or next offseason to a contender at 50% gets a second or more. Even next deadline, if it's a third and we gained production and development from having him then it was a good investment.

Also with free agents, these players I target are usually limited to one or two years on their contracts. Very rarely do I target players with 3 or more so that they can be gone so younger players can take those spots. Most UFAs will want multi year deals, at least most worth going after.

They’re gonna need to be, I think the B’s are going to give them the opportunity considering the cap crunch.

Hall was playing on the third line in Boston, his production was a reflection of that imo. When the playoffs rolled in he was on fire. I think a fresh start with a team in their top 6 pulling more minutes will help his numbers.

The problem is that we already have Fabbri, Kubalík, Rasmussen, Berggren, Söderblom, Veleno, and Zadina on the roster. Even if Hall should rebound he will take icetime from someone else that will produce less. We're not short of left wingers and someone that is only going to be here for two years isn't someone we should pay assets for. We're better off using those picks to draft future players with.

There are other cheap alternatives than rushing their 2 best prospects, but they definitely need to utilize some of the kids from providence next year, just not Lohrei and Lysell
