Robertson, Voit, and a first round pick for Mangiapane is way too much for Toronto to give up

Coming here to say the same exact thing. Very good haul for Hart but not realistic

Does dropping either prospect move the needle for y'all? I am not a fan of any of the four teams, but the deal seams interesting, and values don't seem too crazy.

Not really interested in Mangiapane at 5.8M against the cap. We don’t have a 2025 1st round pick, so trading the 2024 1st puts the team in a really bad spot too

You basically have Calgary trading Mangiapane for debrincat so if anything needs to change it’s Calgary adding. And probably drop one of the TOR prospects. Would still need some tweaking though. Interesting idea but very unlikely

The skeleton of a deal is definitely there but like you said highly unlikely. I would love to see any kinda four way deal with players of this caliber!

In reality you need to use a different player than Mangiapane. He’s not on the same level as the other guys in terms of value so it complicates things

I agree that it would put us in a bad position. But hypothetically, if we are one of the best teams in the league around the TDL, what are the odds we don't trade that pick anyways? Only difference is it would likely be for a rental. I'm probably a bit higher on Mangiapane too. I think he can be a reliable 30 goal, 60 point guy while providing excellent two-way play anywhere in the lineup.

Switching the CGY first to the #16 pick this year probably gets the deal done, but then CGY probably wouldn't be too fond of getting rid of Mangiapane. It's hard to evaluate the value of these players. Timo Meier went for wayyyyy less than most were expecting, and he's probably the closest comparable to Debrincat. Jakob Chychrun is another one that returned probably a bit less than most expected. And then there's trades like Tanner Jeannot.

Toronto and Ottawa both decline.

Cat is worth more than Hart. So I am asking for at least one more solid piece if I am Ottawa.
Mangiapane is not worth that much based on his production this past year.

Have the feeling that DeBrincat does not want to play for a Canadian team.

So you'd keep it so we can trade for a rental in March? That's the same thing we've done for years and it never works out for us.
