There’s a lot of Bruins Columbus would love to acquire, but a winger who makes that much money is not one of them.

See a pattern here? I don't think that Verbeek is paying a second to rent the undersized Grzelcyk, as good as he is. We already have Olen Zellweger in that slot.

It’s literally a trade in your ACGM? That I’m commenting on? Or is this an exercise in “ignore the trades just talk to me about my roster” in which case, say so.

He has a collective WAR before this season of -0.6

A 1st is WAY too much. He might be worth a 3rd but if there is a bidding war, a 2nd wouldn't be a massive overpay (if the team thinks he turned a corner).

They aren’t taking salary back. the 14th pick is too high, but a second is not nearly enough. Dubas has used analytics to try and go cheap on goaltenders and has seen his team basically lose every year in the playoffs because of it.

My guess is they will trade for Samsanov once Toronto acquires Vladar.

Good luck overpaying salary wise


He had a -0.8 WAR last year with Boston. They were a top ten defense in the NHL that year.

Anderson, Jarry, Varlomov, and Hill are equal or better players. They are free to aquire and will be around what Ullmark makes or less.

A 2nd for Ullmark might be an overpay. Sorry. He hasn't been a good goalie (via advanced stats) in his career before this year.
