Canucks pass easily. The reason the Canucks would move Garland is to clear cap space, so taking on a cap dump goalie makes no sense

Same with the Leafs moving Murray. No one wants to pay Garland 5 million.

They would get a way bigger return moving Nylander at the deadline than they will get for Laughton. They would run for this

We don’t agree on much, but we agree on the point u just made lol. The flyers run with this and flip him or a giant haul with some retention

Yea the leafs will give a 40 goal scorer for a third liner and a guy who hasn’t proven anything. Also when Nylander is on the flyers you will get a “haul” yet if we tried getting a haul for him we will get told he’s mid 💀

Canucks decline. Robertson is small, injury prone, and a winger, 3 things we already have too much of. Murray is injury prone, a goalie, and overpaid, 3 things we already have too much of. Neither of those players fill any needs for Vancouver, no interest in either of them.

Tippett has been seen as part of the plan, so take him out. Nylander's numbers would flop in Philly giving him less trade value at the deadline. Neither team considers this.

Teams want Garland, they just know the cap crunch Vancouver is in and want to take advantage. If the Canucks are moving hm for equal cap space then there needs to be picks coming back. Otherwise it's Garland for cheap.

Which is why the Leafs absolutely would never make this trade. It's ridiculous

Why? You can get a lot better value than paying Garland 5 million. He's a smallish transition winger good for 20 goals and 40-50 points. That's not great at 5 million a year.

Garland's two-way game is one of the best of all NHL wingers at 5v5. Doesn't matter that Garland is small, he's hard on the puck when he doesn't have it and great when he gets it.

Only 10 potential free agents had more points than Garland this season, three of which are likely to retire. You'll definitely see teams will sign older, worse players for more money than Garland is currently paid.

His 2 way game isn't a thing. His advance stats show him as a much more offensive than defensively.

Spoken like someone who hasn't watched Garland play. Advanced stats always favour offensive players, everybody knows that. Any team that gets Garland is getting an upgrade in their Top-6.

Ah yes, the old "sure the results and advanced stats say one thing, but my totally bias eye test says otherwise" routine. Garland wasn't an upgrade in Vancouver and now they want to move him because he makes too much money.

What are you talking about? Look at Garland's advanced stats, they're gteat, especially compared to the rest of the Canucks group. And as I said, the advanced stats are skewed to favour offensive players, but as you kindly mentioned, Garland hasn't been as good as he could be, which leans more into Garland's favour.

Garland is a good player it was new management's poor planning with the Kuzmenko/Mikheyev/Beauvillier acquisitions that's caused them to have 8 wingers for 6 potential spots. Hence, the required cap space move. Look anywhere online, any Canuck fan is lamenting the need to move Garland.

Garland isn't some prospect who may take another step. He is a decent offensive transition forward. He doesn't kill penalties, is smaller, and is in fact not overly good defensively. He's just not what you guys are billing him as.

What metrics are you using? By Corsi, Fenwick, GA/60, GA/5v5, Garland is good.

Most teams aren’t interested in adding players his size. Not to mention his production doesn’t match his paycheck.
