This isn't even close. Carolina are already trying to extend him. The only reason the rumor is even remotely plausible is because Pesce changed agents. Dundon has been very vocal about keeping him. Elite shutdown defensemen are extremely difficult to find.

This speculation started because he switched his agent. The Athletic said guys switch agents because they are looking for more money. The article drawing a line that we don’t overpay so we may not be able to re-sign him.

An extension signing and trade deal will cost a lot more than what you are proposing.

My guess is that it will cost at least either Bourque or Stankoven.

Pesce is the perfect D partner for Miro and there is a huge price tag with that.

I think its written in the CBA that Pesce can only be traded to Toronto for Robertson and a 4th
