If the Jets decide to retool and move on from Schiefele, that seems like a package they would accept. AZ accepts as well. Hawks probably decline. A pick swap from a 3rd to a 2nd won't be enough. Hawks would take Petry as part of a larger deal for #14, but on his own can't see a lot of interest from Hawks. Ducks do need RD help so maybe.

Especially given its a rebuilding team that isn't up against the cap. No reason to pay for a backup goalie at Desmith's age.

I don't see how the Jets say no to that - actually seems like an overpay imo. I'd ask for half retention at least. I'm not sure if the Pens would like this trade though.

I don't see how AZ passes up that offer either. But again - I think the Pens do.

Hawks probably decline. And that's probably a good thing for the Pens if your alternative is to sign Klingberg to that terrible contract.

Sharks say no. Ducks say maybe.

Ok, I altered the trade slightly, ease the cap issue, minor cap retention, also like that hit at least for the 1 season on his contract left

It's not that I don't think the Pens wouldn't like Schiefele - I was more leaning towards they wouldn't like what they're paying. If Schiefele is available I have no issues with them taking a look

I see what you mean. I think Sullivan would appreciate getting back to the center strong position, solidify the depth there, have a great option on the second PP and have a good skating and playmaking 3C. All the usual suspects are being tossed around and it’s looking like big changes in WPG, wonder if this might be an interesting trade target. Now I may have over inflated his worth, but something like this would be able to pry the guy from there and put him in a better position for next season. Does Scheifele want to put one more season into a team looking to rebuild right now? Some of those guys that have been there for a while might be in the same boat with WPG. Interesting thoughts for armchair season

I definitely get what your saying. If WPG is blowing it up I would definitely have Schiefele on the list of guys to look at. It was more just the value as opposed to the player that I was looking at. Always better to overpay than underpay on here too haha.

But in my personal opinion I think you could get him for less - or if you do give up that package - get really good retention on him.
