I don’t think Sabres go after goalie this off-season

Has it not been rumored that Calgary could be looking to move a defensemen? With Tanev being 33 going on 34 with 1 year left to UFA would he be a candidate to move or no?

It has not been rumored that Calgary is looking to move a defenseman, it probably has for Columbus though so I suggest trying there.

As for Tanev Calgary would likely be looking at one of your extra young forward prospects or Mittelstadt. Very little to zero interest in Olofsson

Fair enough, thank you. I appreciate the feedback

I actually agree. I'm not even convinced that Gibson is a good idea at all due to what Anaheim's ask will be along with his recent struggles + his contract. If they made a trade similar to the one here though without moving a first or one of the "big four" forward prospects I think that I'd probably be good with it

Works for me - I would rather have Hanifin of the Flames' defensemen rumored to be available.

He hasn't veen rumored to be available. He's been rumored to have a lot of teams asking about him. Huge difference

I have never seen a trade with any pieces moving out of Calgary that you do like. For years you have over valued every Calgary player I don't even pay attention to any of your comments anymore.
You must have really flipped your lid last year when Calgary didn't resign Johnny G and traded Tkachuk!!

No thanks from Anaheim

No interest in either player and a 2nd certainly doesn’t even pay for the retention for 4 years

Why are you responding to me if you ignore what I say? Are you trying to aggravate me by stating your opinion on me? At least respond to something with relevance to your opinion. Me stating facts and then you responding with "well your opinions suck" is quite silly

Excuse me if I'm asking a dumb question here, but what do you think Gibson's value is?

In addition what pieces is Anaheim looking for in a return assuming that you have a realistic expectation in mind?

Could it be possible that Gibson is more valuable to Anaheim then outside teams looking at the recent trend in statistics? (Again forgive me, I am unwilling to pay for fancy analytics at the moment so maybe he is playing significantly better then his raw stats show.) Because to be quite honest I would be nervous about the Sabres acquiring Gibson at his current cap hit and thinking he's the guy who is gonna stabilize the crease leading up to Levi..

It makes little sense for Anaheim to retain on Gibson when you guys have over $9 million in cap space.
Change the draft pick to your 2023 first and I think that's a fair offer for four seasons of a starting goaltender.
John Gibson trades are one of the five most controversial topics on CapFriendly, because a significant portion of almost every fanbase will scream -- not say, scream -- that he's no good, so I admire your firmness in raising the subject at all.

Fair, thank you for the feedback! I'm not sure if I would give up 13 OA + in this draft class for Gibson, but that's why (thank goodness) I'm not the GM
