They never would. But it would certainly make sense in hindsight when Wahlstrom is a 25-20 guy and Rossi is TJ Tynan.

Too big of a risk for the Wild, if they deal Rossi and he becomes a 1 or 2C they get roasted. If someone offered a 1st rounder this year they likely would consider it.

Granted Wahlstrom is only 23. But he wasn't producing early in his career either. Let alone his first 20 games. So the double standard you set here is hilarious to see.

My opinion is not based on point totals - it's about the player. Go look up the career arcs of Tynan vs. Gaudreau - nearly identical point totals in the exact same leagues during their D-1 and D0 seasons. Nearly identical in stature. Extremely similar in playstyle. One kept getting better and one didn't. I watched them both play in the USHL and NCAA. Johnny always had an X factor - Tynan never did.
