He's got some value and he could help out on PP2 if needed. A lot of GMs apparently have some high thoughts of him because of his skating.

The Jets are drowning in young LHD who are struggling to make the NHL. They will likely already be trading out multiple LHD this summer. If the Jets like him more than their own former first round picks I guess that's fine, but he really seems like more of a problem than an asset at this point.

If Van takes back $1.5M, I'd be happier with that. Might even boost the 3rd to a 2nd.
