Why would the Sharks do this? A pair of 26 year olds that are bottom 6 guys at best for possibly one of the 5 best bargain contract in the league in Barabanov.

Sharks definitely accept. Colton is someone SJ can load into the secondary core and count on when we’re competitive again…if he signs long term. Barabanov is better now but doesn’t fit with SJ long term.

Neither fit the Sharks timeline. They're already 26. That would be awful to give up Barabanov for that when you could get very good draft picks

TB shouldn't do this either Colton is a far better goal scorer and nearly as good defensively

In what world is Colton a bottom six forward on that San Jose roster

I don’t know if you’re familiar with rebuilds most Ufa don’t resign long term deals at the start of a rebuild

I hate to be the one to break this, but unless Colton takes a huge discounts, Tampa cannot afford to resign him so you have to look for good fits under the cap.. most likely Ufa expiring contracts on rebuild teams, since he’s an rfa… and to provide perspective if they were going to resign Colton, it would probably already be done.. they had cirelli sergy and cerny All resigned before their final year..

Tampa can easily re-sign Colton. Not sure where this funny narrative that Tampa can't keep him so they better just take whatever scraps they get offered(not that this package is that)for him. The only scenario where Tampa can't afford Colton is if Killorn chooses to take a very unrealistic deal to stay in Tampa(if Tampa has offered him one). Otherwise, Tampa will have little difficulty re-signing Colton and having him slot in next to Cirelli and Stamkos on the 2nd line.

Tampa also didn't re-sign any of Cirelli, Serg or Cernak immediately(none were extended until the 1st day of ufa last year), so the fact that Colton hasn't been signed means nothing.

You have 1.8 add to that 2.5 to barabonov and 1.05 Lorentz that's 5.35 give Colton 3.5 sign 2 guys for 900k you have a 22nd skater about 75 k cap and Colton find Eric Staal type vet and say call up a Barre-Boulet or Koepke or Finley.
