I would think AZ isn't interested in tying up another retention slot (OEL) long-term. Plus the seven or eight million real dollars. Doesn't seem like an AZ move.

that's a lot to ask of the Rangers for Goodrow. Rangers either find a taker for him that asks for a 3rd rounder or less, or they just buy him out.

Dont see AZ doing 4 yrs retention, only have 1 slot for 4 years left (OEL has 1 slot), plus a 2nd is prolly fair but they have 4x 2 nds already in '24. prolly another team bites as the 3rd in the trade

Rangers don't even consider that absurd Goodrow trade. Retention plus a 2nd round pick for nothing is pure nonsense. Be way cheaper to just buy him out.

You didn’t read it. They give him for a 2nd and flipped the 2nd to ARI for retention. idk what the cost of a buyout is.

The Rangers trade Goodrow and a 2nd for nothing, and that's a win for the Rangers? LOL. Goodrow won't be that hard to move plus the buy out is always an option along with keeping him.

Yes he will. A 4th liner making 3.6 mil. ur not getting rid of him easy. A 2nd isn’t bad at all.

Your opinion and I disagree. Option 1 is keeping him anyway and it just depends on the cost to get the RFA's signed,

    Nylander > Wilson
1st > McMichael who has struggled and found himself in the minors even when Washington desperately needed help.

I agree with the above mostly but McMichael played well when he was in the lineup. Lavi was just allergic to playing youth. He’ll have a full time role this season

Nylander is obviously the better player but Wilson is unique and the caps have no reason to move him so i agree that his value is at least the same as Nylanders if not higher

NYR aren't giving up a 2nd rounder with a player they can buyout for free the next two years
