Is Petry this summer's Petersson in that in every single Pens "roster" he is dumped on Detroit?

Detroit is past taking on, let alone paying for, crappy old cap dumps.

How do you buyout Granlund and Carter? Pretty sure you can only have 2 buyouts on the books at a time, and with JJ's on there I don't think it's possible.

They need young high quality players OR to be paid assets to take vets on one year deals to flip in February for a pick if reqd.

They dont need cap casualties just to spend money

Staal was still good Yzerman signed him for another season. Plus Staal was younger, had a lower cap hit and was in the final year of his contract.
