I think that's an overpay by Washington. ARZ should accept. This would be really bad long-term for Washington. Cooley looks good, but the team as a whole is in rough shape.

It is an overpay by WASH, but still if AZ does fold the team. This sets back the rebuild years and years and I imagine every other player demands trade.
Honestly with WASH current team I dont see this helping enough - Keller fine plug in right away, cooley still a bit away and the 6OA is few years away, and with WASH age. they wont have high picks for years to fill out complete team.

Teams moving towards a rebuild shouldn't trade 1sts more than a year down the road.
First off, I'm glad you all think it's an overpay, that's a good sign on this site lol
But I also don't think you all realize what this would do to the Caps. If they do this trade there's no rebuild happening for another 15-20 years. In 4 years this team looks like:
Keller-Cooley-Michkov
Miroschnenchko-Strome-Suzdalev
McMichael-Lapierre-Protas
Sandin-Iorio
Fehervary-Chesley
Along with some other good youth like Alexeyev, Trineyev, Hofer, etc. I'm not saying it's perfect, they would still need a #1D but they will have a slew of cap space with Ovi, Backy, Oshie, Carly, Kuz all gone. And the next 2-4 years Ekblad, Theodore, Chychurn, Makar, Hughes are all defensive free agents.
