Bouchard is more of a Burns replacement than a Pesce replacement, but it works I guess?

Is there a desire to trade Pesce? Well he not extend? What's his deal?

Pesce hired a new agent coinciding with the Severson sign & trade, and assorted insiders said they've heard Pesce will be traded by the Canes IF they can't come to terms on an extension (presumably before the season), with Edmonton and Buffalo sniffing around.

I'd like to get either a 2023 pick instead of a 2024 or a right-handed forward prospect for Arvidsson. This is a highly underwhelming offer for him even though he is a rental. After all, he would have been the third-leading scorer among your forwards this past season.

Literally, nothing. It's just that Dreger reported that Carolina might trade him if he won't sign an extension... the Insider Trading clip is below where he talks about it

Carolina's '23 2nd instead of the Philly '24 is fine. I put the Philly pick in because it's going to be way higher, but if LA wants the earlier pick, sure.

Ok thank you.

Curious if you guys have an idea what a contract would look like for him and if they did go the trade route, what the ask would be? Would Morrow be ready for NHL duties if they did move him out do they look at free agency. I know the trade posted had Bouchard meaning ideally they get a lesser, younger with more upside replacement for him.

Morrow isn't a Pesce replacement. D men like Pesce are ridiculously difficult to find. He doesn't do much offensively but will dominante top opposition defensively. Morrow's an offensive dynamo. Much more of a Burns replacement.

As for the contract, my guess is somewhere in the Range of 5.5-6.5 x 6. He is 28 so you don't want to go too long with the term but he's also extremely difficult to replace. The closest comparable is probably Mattias Ekholm, although Ekholm isn't a RD.

I was thinking Weegar's contract personally as a comparable but wanted to see what you guys thought, I think we are in the same ballpark.

I'm curious what his trade value is. I agree they are very tough to find but often get undervalued. I would love if Detroit added him, would be great beside Edvinsson or Wallinder. I would expect it would need to be a player that can contribute now, my best guess would be a package around Berggren but I would hate to lose him.

Edmonton isn't trading Bouchard, he's got top pair potential.

My guess is either a similar scorer with longer cost certainty (Keller) or someone who is arguably better (insert Toronto forward here).

On the assumption that Fiala or Kempe++ is off limits, I'm not sure LA has a package that would convince them.

I guess not if it's Kempe++. You know he's scored 35 and 41 goals in back to back years right? I get Necas is great but Kempe is no slouch either.

But I just thought I'd see if he had any availability.
