Really good signing, I'm a big fan of Jones. Curious to see if he gets a larger opportunity under Laviolette. You'd hope so considering he loses his waivers exemption.

For a cap team like the Rangers, contracts like this are exactly what you need. I mean, this is nearly league min. Great deal

I figured he'd come in around 910k, solid bit of work here by drury to get jones essentially at league minimum

Great contract for a guy who will hopefully become a top 4 by the end of the 2nd year in the deal.

This is a good news, bad news contract. If he stays, then the Rangers have a won this deal. However, if he has to go down, he's gone. There's no way he survives waivers.

Then again, if the biggest downside is, "They won't survive waivers." then you have a solid win.
