Yes, certainly past tank period, but may be another year before Kasper, Edvinsson, etc take major roles.

I think they should add only young guys with term. For instance, only add Hanifin if he is extending.

I agree with your points for sure. Not Hanifin though, as we have like 11 LHD under contract already including most of our top prospects (Edvinsson, Wallinder, Johansson are all LHD). In my opinion we are mucb better served going for a scorer with the resources we have

Sign Hanifin. Sell Edvinsson for a forward (Byfield?)
(If they want to accelerate the rebuild).

That would turn some heads.

What would a trade involving Hanafin and Edvinsson look like? Assuming Hanafin could be signed long term…

Sens have zero interest in Zadina, you need to change him to Berggren or Kubalik

Well if he's not able to get minutes, of course. But that's I think where we differ; I think he'll definitely become 2C. Despite his bad faceoffs, he looked great in his Toronto debut. Coulda (and probably woulda if he wasn't playing on a broken kneecap) had a goal or two if Samsonov didn't make some phenomenal stops.

And I that’s exactly why I’d like to get monahan on the cheap. If kasper gets to camp and isn’t ready yet then he gets sent to the AHL and gets called up when monahan gets hurt. If he does the. Sticking monahan in the 3rd or 4th line doesn’t hurt either.

Right, but here's me saying that I do think Kasper is ready - a safe bet imo,

I don’t think we are disagreeing after all lol. I think there was just a misunderstanding somewhere along the way

I understand wanting a backup incase he is rocky but man this kid was poised as "the most NHL ready player in the draft," getting an injury-prone center would just be a needless knack against the cap.

Eh Detroit has like 10 million or so just to get to the floor. I’m not worried about tossing 2-3 million at him for one year. Especially if it forces kasper to earn a spot and not just be given one.

Sign Hanifan then sell a D prospect with a higher ceiling? Heads would be turning for the wrong reasons. That's a terrible idea for the Wings.
