Then its Mysak, Rhett Pitlick, Alex Tuch or Nurmi at B level prospects

Outside that if PLD signed for lets sat 7.9m just a 25-50k i believe over Suzuki it would go a long way in standing by the message our Core and GM has sent.
We'll give PLD a couple years of signing bonus's instead for that that 125k-150k hit he took off his 8m asking price.

Id rather get something like a 2nd round pick over Turcotte for taking on 4m$. Unfortunately he is on path to become a career AHLer.

Since when does RS on pending UFA's get more then a 4th? sometimes maybe a 3rd when its really high
But i cant recall a 2nd on RS on a pending UFA ever happening

Id gamble on a lot of guys with MSL as a coach, but Id rather give that ice time to our own prospects like Farrel or even Roy. A guy like RHP deserves to be rewarded as well over a guy like Turcotte who would get ice time based on his 5th overall status.

Then why would we get Turcotte for taking on a pending UFA? Hes certainly worth more than a 3rd/4th round pick. The trade doesnt make sense for MTL because the deal isnt good for LA in the first place.

You're right this deal only made slight sense for LAK if PLD was included and RS on but even then is wiping out their Center youth core leaving them Kupari and Anderson-Dolan i believe

Turcotte is not a top 6 projected center anymore. He is the type of guy who will become too good for the AHL but wont be good enough to be a top 6 guy in the NHL and cant adapt his style to play on the bottom 6. Caufueld has chemistry with Suzuki and Dach seems to be a great future 2nd line center. If anything we should be spending this type of asset (cap space) to acquire a young RHD. We dont need Turcotte imo.
