If the Canucks have the cap space for Savard, I can see them accepting. Not a huge fan of giving up a 3rd but its the price you gotta pay for a responsible dman

Changed for a 3rd. Better do you think? Was debating on whether we need to take a contract.

We can get so much more for Savard and Anaheim decline. Not worth going after 2 overall. Maybe 4, but not 2

That was my thought process as well. And you look at what Severson got, that was just for UFA signing rights as well.

When first creating a team, the software doesn't auto-save your Team Explanation. You have to hit the Save button, which took me a while to figure out.

We aren't interested in any of those three players in the slightest, so we wouldn't trade #2 for #5.

Ah understood. That makes sense.

From my point of view, Anaheim could go one of two ways. They can request quantity, which is the approach I took in this case. 3 B Level prospects with limited NHL potential, but they do have a solid prospect pool so that may be their approach. That way they can get quantity in this trade, and in a trade like Gibson which is inevitible, they can get a big name prospect. Or they can do essentially the opposite. Try and get a guy like Owen Beck, plus the opportunity to draft likely Michkov AND another first round talent, rather than 3 B levels plus the picks. I basically have both of those trades in mind, either would do.

Savard is as bad, if not worse, than Myers. You’d be lucky to get positive value for him

Savard is so underrated. He was our best dman this year. He blocked so many shots and he is only paid 3,5 millions. He has so much more value than you think

Savard has been bad for 3 years in a row. He’s not as good as you think he is

He is a great leader, great defensive top 4 and he is rarely injured (wich is rare in Montreal). He is easily worth 4,5 millions on the market. He is worth a second and a good prospect at least. Maybe a first. But we aren’t trying to trade him

He’s missed 20 games each of the last 2 seasons. Saying he’s worth a 1st is like me saying the Canucks should ask for a 1st for Myers 1.5M retained

Lol Myers is 6 millions. He doesn’t block a lot of shot and isn’t good defensively. He isn’t a leader. Plus, Vancouver need cap space while Montreal don’t.

Myers in the last 2 seasons has 292 blocked shots compared to Savard’s 303. You said Savard is worth 4.5M which is why I said 1.5M retained. Savard is not good defensively either, which you would have seen if you looked at the links I showed you above. Myers was better analytically defensively than him this season, and significantly better last season

The Capitals are not going to trade for Dvorak at all. Especially not with the 40th Overall pick and taking on all of Dvorak’s salary. The Caps will want nothing to do with that trade, Dvorak just isn’t that good.
