I would hope leafs decline. An RFA goalie a prospect and a great player for an expiring contract goaltender and wheeler who is quite old

The Kings aren't trading Byfield+ for PLD. If anything, Winnipeg has to add in that swap.

They may eventually end up moving on from Byfield if they choose to go with a new 1C, but it would be an entirely different transaction.

We can't trade for Pierre-Luc DuBois until we know what his 2023-2024 cap hit is going to be (entirely aside from any extension thereof), and we won't know that figure prior to the draft in 9 days.
