Habs make smart decisions

Created by: JeffGorton
Team: 2023-24 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 20, 2023
Published: Jun. 21, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Move some cap away and create a roster that is fun to watch

Also move Suzuki to the wing. Hed be much more effective near the boards at all times with his elite edge work. Dubois and Dach are better fits physically as centers and positionally are better in the middle of the ice compared to Suzuki

If Faceoffs are an issue, than just have Suzuki, Monahan and Evans take the important draws

Hawks wouldn't take Hoffman for free even if he was double retained.

No one is giving good assets for Montreal's cap dumps.

If the Hawks can’t complete a more significant “cap dump” deal they may consider something like this. They would probably want the Habs to skip the retention and increase the value of the draft pick(s).

What good assets are the habs getting for cap dumps? Hoffman is paired with 2 5th rounders for nothing

I dont see the habs giving up much for Hoffman, they have cap space to buy him out easily. My guess is that they want the extra space to eat a very bad contract from another team. Like monahan deal again

Come on now, if one was to believe Windjammer not a single Habs player has positive value. He knows everything and everyone else on this site should just bow down and kiss his feet and marvel at his glory 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

On a more serious note, you did a good job but Anderson has a 6 team no trade list and Winnipeg is probably on that list

Not true. Hoffman wouldn't be in Hawks top 6 next season.

Hoffman wouldn't be in the top 6 on any nhl team. He'll be out of the league in the next 3 seasons

I think he’d be okay with joining them. Playing with Connor and Perfetti and he doesn’t seem like one that hates Canada like some players do
