Excellent. I figured anywhere from 975k - 1.2m. He deserves to get paid a little more than his on-ice value since he's getting punched in the face. Not an easy job.
I can get why a non-CBJ fan might think this isn't the best deal, but he provides something that they don't have a lot of in the lineup and does so at a pretty low cost (even considering this slight raise). He's a pretty useful 4th liner when he isn't being relied on as a crutch like how Larsen used the 4th line, and I remember reading some pieces about him participating in skills practices in an effort to grow his game. Overall seems like a solid physical presence that genuinely wants to improve in other areas at a low price. I'll take that any day of the week
