Necas a 2nd and 4th is nowhere near getting both Hanifin and Lindholm out of Calgary. You overvalue Martin Necas way too much.

It needs don't come around asking for Buch, he's not available. Especially for picks deferred three drafts from now and glacier slow "prospects". Hope that clarifies things. smile

It is not. A 20-30 point 2nd pair defenceman and a 40-50 point winger in no way equal and elite point a game 40 goals scorer.

Did one earlier with

Necas
1st
2nd

That wouldn’t work for you? I’d say that’s a bit of an overpay. I’d also say STL is starting the rebuild to build around Kyrou and Robert. Wouldn’t you?

tears of joy

Do you have any idea how many Willy for Pesce trades this site has seen from Leafs fans?

I mean, good grief with this stuff already.

Dude. Don't you think describing Pesce solely as "a 20-30 point defenseman" is just the slightest bit disingenuous?

The Blues are not tear down rebuilding, sorry.

And yes, Necas + 23 1st + 2nd would be far better received in STL. And yes, Carolina would not offer that.

Who cares how many leaf fans have posted Willy for Pesce trades. Leafs are the most popular team and my fellow fans sometimes have outrageous takes. This proposal is not fair, Willy > Pesce (offense always trump defense, that’s why Willy will make $8-9M on his next deal & Pesce around $6M). Terevainen is underperforming winger at $5.5M & pending FA; he’s almost buyout candidate & Liligren is cost controlled young RHD. Lopsided for Canes

Blues one needs a centerpiece. Your last one had the centerpiece of Necas. This one has a better secondary piece but the gap between the centerpieces is much bigger.

If offense always trumps defense, how is it that Toronto and Edmonton haven’t won cups in how long, and yet Tampa (3 consecutive finals, 2 cup wins), NY Islanders (2 consecutive ECF losses), Carolina (2 ECF losses in 5 year span), Vegas (Cup win and Finals loss in 5 years, and Dallas (multiple deep runs) all have more success as defensive teams? Hell, even Colorado (cup win) can be put on the defensive list. Because for the 2 poster children teams of all offense, they sure don’t have that much success as offense only teams.

Cause frankly, it seems that defense is more important than offense when it comes down to playoff success. But sure, it’s all about he money.

Wow - talk about taking a comment out of context and twisting it to your agenda … but it is all about the money. With a hard salary cap, gms & owners tell us what players they value more . Players that produce offense get paid more than those that contribute defensively, always. Nylander value > Pesce value, without question.
Kind of bizzare but you twisted my comments about player value into a discussion on which style of play produces results in playoffs, which is a completely separate argument. Successful teams excel at both ends - offense & defense, I never said anything differently.
Funny you brought Carolina and NYI into this, they’ve won nothing 😂, same as a leafs & oilers

This is a fun post and can debate the values. Next year becomes a massive problem though.
