Canucks still want to compete. They have lost OEL and rumour is that they aren't qualifying Bear even if they do he is out half of next year.

Assuming they still intend to move Myers this gives them some solid D on the backend with a mix of potential and skill.

If things go south they can also retain 50% on Brodie at the deadline and likely get a 1st for him in a trade with a competitor getting him for just over $1M.

Canucks aren’t retaining 2M for 3 years. If they did it would cost more than that

Canucks decline. Gonna cost more than that for 3 years of retention on Garland. I also highly doubt the Canucks wouldn’t qualify Bear. He plays a position of severe need, is young, and played well last year. Our management group was also very vocal that they acquired him because they really like his play and had been targeting him for pretty much their whole tenure before things lined up and they could get him.

First, remove the retention on Jones and then convince him to waive for TOR. If you can do those things, you might get a discussion going.
