That Couture trade makes too much sense so it won't happen, naturally.

Shane Wright won't be moved. You never get top top prospects in trades.

Maybe Seattle gives up their #2 and #3 prospects instead.

I can't see Seattle giving up either Wright or Borgen in a Karlsson trade, or even a Karlsson + Ferraro trade. Borgen is a key piece of the current team, and Wright will most likely be in short order. I did an ACGM examining a Karlsson trade from Seattle's perspective earlier today, and I think if the Kraken pursue such a deal, the return going to San Jose would probably consist mainly of draft picks. That might suit the Sharks better anyway considering they're in the middle of a rebuild.

laugh On what planet does Erik Karlsson return a potential franchise Centerman in Shane Wright? I don't think so.

Couture trade does make sense except he has 4 more years , and he’s 34 so no way 😬 we’d move a 1st. Just can’t see it happening

And I hate the idea of trading Niemela too. I know in the trade proposed the Sharks took Murray for year, but as a agree with four years of Couture at 6m....no thanks

Couture is still an effective point producer and at $6 million per, that's a steal. Paying only a 28th overall pick for him is a small price to pay.

Then Ottawa can trade for him. Respectively disagree - he is effective but at$6M, that is not a steal. 4 years left is the killer given his age. And finally our 1st in this year’s draft is not a ‘small price’; it is one of only 3 picks this year and our 1st 1st rounder in 3 years

A 28th overall pick is still just that, a 28th overall pick. You were fine with paying a first and a second for a middling defenseman just a few months ago but now you draw the line at a 67-point center?

And the Sens won't trade for him because we already have Stutzle, Norris, Pinto, Kastelic, and Greig down the middle.

Rather than debate - appreciate the input, but suggest you focus on your team. Another year & another missed playoffs would be tough for Ottawa & new owner
