I get the Canes don’t move firsts for rentals, but this would be one rental move I would move a first for if it’s this exact move. That being said, I don’t think Turbo waives for Winnipeg

No way are the Rangers giving up Othmann at all, let alone for a year of PLD before he signs in Montreal.

PLD has been linked to wanting to play in a big city. Not just Montreal. You could throw LA in there too.

I forgot the 20 year old with 67 points in 56 games in the OHL is untouchable. Joins the long list of Rangers untouchable prospects.

Its not that he's "untouchable" its that he's got an ELC for another 3 years AND the rangers are tight to the cap. PLD is expensive, and even moving goodrow the rangers will still be tight to the cap.
They cant afford to sign him long term without moving something big out, thus weakening their top 6 depth.
Also PLD doesn't really move the needle for the rangers. He's a center, we have 3 top 6 centers.

I don't hate the value, and its fairly accurate, but not a good fit for the rangers.

And the Rangers can't develop forwards to save their life.

Rangers at some point have to make a big move. Buying out or trading Trouba is certainly a possibility.

That’s really not true. Buch/Chytil/Mika Have all absolutely developed.
The cap jumps next season, I don’t see any issue where we need to buyout Trouba yet.

Chytil is the only one they've drafted and he's had one ok season. Kakko, Laf, Kravtsov are another story.

Buch was ok on Rangers. Very good once he got to a new team.

Zibs wasn't drafted by Rangers. Came to the team his 5th season. Was already good on the Sens just never got any PP time. Can't say they developed him.

You asked how they can make space. Buying Trouba out is an option.

Buch had started to break out the year before they moved him. 48 pts in 54 games.

Mika came over in his 5th year. He had a career high of 51 pts inan 81 game season.

2 years later he rips off 74,75 50 (in 57 games), 81,91
I'd say thats developed by the rangers.
