Trades
1.
MTL
  1. Dubois, Pierre-Luc [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
We all know this is inevitable
WPG
  1. Dvorak, Christian
  2. Mesar, Filip
  3. 2023 1st round pick (FLA)
Additional Details:
Dvorak in this trade will allow Montreal to slot Dubois in as their 2C and give freedom to Dach to play on the top line. Mesar isn’t bad but he will never be anything more than bottom 6 player.
2.
MTL
  1. Sharangovich, Yegor [RFA Rights]
  2. 2024 1st round pick (NJD)
Additional Details:
Devils need some bite and physicality in their bottom 6. I’d imagine they’d have interest in Josh Anderson. Sharangovich is a safe bet to be in the trade as Anderson would be replacing him in the lineup anyways, and he could use a change of scenery.
NJD
  1. Anderson, Josh
Additional Details:
I know he’s a league anomaly, but the trade rumours he’s been in over the last 2 years have shown he’s got high trade value even though his contract isn’t that great. Montreal can’t move Gallagher for cap room without paying so trading Anderson will give them cap space and they’ll get a nice return.
3.
MTL
  1. Jokiharju, Henri
  2. 2023 3rd round pick (LAK)
Additional Details:
Jokiharju is a good bet for Montreal, as he still has some breakout potential, and Edmundson is a good fit for Buffalo, as he can help mentor someone like Owen Power and the rest of the young team, while also providing some defensive stability Buffalo lacks.
BUF
  1. Edmundson, Joel
  2. 2023 5th round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
Edmundson gives me the same sort of vibes that Chiarot did a few years back, good leader who plays a physical game. Even though he’s not much more than a 4/5 defensemen on a cup winner, he’ll be high in demand because what he brings is rare in the league, just like Chiarot.
4.
MTL
  1. Lafrenière, Alexis [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Take a bet on a player who needs a shot in the top 6, and can be signed for cheap. If Laf is going to break out anywhere, it’ll be in his hometown.
NYR
  1. Norlinder, Mattias
  2. 2023 4th round pick (VGK)
  3. 2024 1st round pick (NJD)
Additional Details:
This is a lot to give up, but none of these assets will ever equate to what Lafreniere could be if he breaks out.

Some overvalue of your player. And Dubois isn’t coming. New York deal is fine though. Jokiharju > Eddy. Anderson is getting a first, not more. And not New Jersey, they already have Meier

A first alone for Anderson is outrageous, and then you added Sharangovich and I nearly had a brain aneurysm.

Devils decline. Using two years of “trade rumors” as justification for trade value is nonsense. If he had value, he would have been moved.

Sharangovich > Anderson

If Habs have been selling Anderson for two years at a certain price, but no one is buying, maybe…lower the price?

Would definitely make sense for NJ if Josh Anderson was better at hockey

If you’ve been paying attention to the trade rumours for him over the last 2-3 years, that’s the deal structure some teams have already offered and Kent Hughes has declined

They’d be lucky to sign him for $7 million. And why not? They have the room to do it, and it’s where Dubois wants to be so I’m sure he’ll play up to it. $7 million will be chump change in 3-4 years with the cap projected to go up 5-6% or more in that timeframe

With how horribly his development has been handled, they’d be lucky to get that.

Trade rumours are the best thing to go off of when justifying a mock trade. Lol. What else would you like me to go off of? Pure speculation? It’s been widely reported that multiple teams have tabled high end offers for Anderson and Hughes has declined

Jokiharju is a better player than Edmundson in our eyes, but in the eyes of NHL GMs, Edmundson brings intangibles that have high value around the league. That’s why he’s so valuable

You should be going off trade comps. There is little difference between rumors and speculation. IMO, if Hughes actually had a 1st+ for Anderson and his awful contract, he should have unloaded.

Laf deal isn't even close. You gave up mid 1st and 3rd for dach, and laffy has been more productive with better pedigree

Not much difference between a 35 point guy and a 20-25 point guy. I think a B prospect and a fourth equate to that value. Change it to a third and it gets the deal done, but you’re splitting hairs lol

But what he brings is abundant in the NHL, what Anderson brings is not
