If the Hurricanes are looking at Toffoli it's probably as a one-year rental and not a medium to long-term solution

The Jackets are still depending on Mateychuk filling a role in the near future. Doubt he's available until a Provorov extension happens, if it happens. Lindholm also just isn't worth two prospects that were drafted 12th OA in the last two drafts.

Mateychuk is one of the top defensive prospects in the NHL. I believe wheeler has him 15 overall in the entire NHL. He will be needed to takeover provorovs spot on a cheap ELC. I think jarmo would much rather give up a 24 first
