Must've missed where the blues made the playoffs this year. Oh wait, they had a losing record and finished worse than the sabres in a weaker division.

That Parayko contract is poison. Nobody should want it unless they really don’t care and will just buy him out in two or three years. That would be a pretty expensive buyout.

It's actually not bad if they are buying him out after june 2026. It's actually probably worth it for Buffalo to get him to partner with Power. Would be a scary pairing to go up against based on their size alone.

The buyout calculator is weird here. It says if you were to buy out the remaining four years of his contract at that point you would pay $6.5 million in cap hit for the four remaining years. Of course the actual money paid would be less. But you essentially get No Cap relief for buying out the contract, which seems off.

What have the Blues done since winning the Stanley Cup in 2019?

I apologize - not trying to be a jerk. Think Buffalo will be really good going forward. Parayko was big part of cup and he’s still good - last season there were a lot of issues. He played well last month of season. Don’t want to trade him so this whole argument is stupid

Unfortunately Tim Murray set back the rebuild by six years.
He traded poorly and gave away draft picks that gave the Sabres nothing in return ( 2nd for Deslauriers, 2nd for Fasching, 2nd for Gorges, 3rd for the rights to talk with Vesey, let's include 1st for Lehner because Tim had to know Robin was dealing with internal demons when they were both in Ottawa).
And drafted even worse, Reinhart over Marner and Nylander over Sergachev, can it really get any worse than that.
He traded away or gave away defensemen Zadorov, Myers, McNaab, Pysyk, Ruhwedel leaving only McCabe and Ristolainen who could be called NHL defensemen.
Unfortunately it was only until Sam, Rasmus and Jack were traded did an earnest rebuild begin.

Idk for me it's working fine only place I see 6.5M is the initial cap hit, but in the last category to the far left it's correctly adjusting.

Why would we downgrade from Alex Iafallo to Viktor Olofsson??

We'll trade Iafallo to you for the Philly second.

Alex would be great in a Sabre uniform.
He was raised just 20 minutes from Key Bank Center, he could elevate his game as much as Tuch did, a second would be a bargain.
