If Helle took that sort of deal that could very well work. But all signs to me seem like he’s going to test free agency.

From the LA perspective, Blake just spent assets to get out of Petersens contract, spent a 3rd to get Portillo, and signed the penguins old goalie coach.

I feel like LA is looking for a 1-2 year contract (so Blake doesn’t get burned again) with a goalie who would be an upgrade over Korpisalo and work with the new goalie coach. Could be totally wrong here, but I think the Kings are interested in either an old penguins goalie or a rental like Ullmark.

The Jets could take back some useful cap to make it work though I doubt the Kings want to erode their lineup depth which is really their strength, also the Jets are a dumb organization, they wouldn't see the value in a Iafallo or Arvidsson if it was offered to them.

PLD to LAK was never happening. The cap makes it almost impossible to manoeuvre for a contender. It was always Montreal and unless another team comes out of the woodwork like a Nashville or San Jose then it will be Montreal. It was Brisson negotiating through the media for the PLD contract AAV

Bergevin is trying to get Blake to trade for PLD so MTL cant get him as some sort of FU to them. He and Brisson are close so i think at worst Brisson and Bergevin are attempting to drive up MTLs price.
