WPG-LA-MTL 3 way blockbuster

Created by: patnaisnyquil
Team: 2023-24 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 25, 2023
Published: Jun. 25, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The trade goes like this:
To Winnipeg: Vilardi, Pinelli, Iaffalo, Lizotte, Farrell, Harris, Allen, LAK 2024 1st round pick, CGY 2025 1st round pick.
To Los Angeles: Connor Hellebuyck (2M$ retained), Josh Anderson
To Montréal: Pierre-Luc Dubois, 2M$ retention on Hellebuyck

I thinks its a deal that works for everyone, LA would just need to flip Arvidsson somewhere, maybe he can go to MTL. WPG would be stacked on assets, they dont receive any bad contract and can build around Perfetti, Pinelli, Vilardi, Harris, Farrell, Lambert and Lucius (+ the assets they'll get for Scheifele). LA enters their window of contention while keeping Byfield. Anderson can be a big plus in the playoffs and isnt as costly as PLD. Montreal gets PLD, the price went up since LA's got MTL's 2024 2nd round pick so they cant offer sheet him.

Idk if the cap works for everyone but it seems fair and would fit the needs of everyone in my opinion

LA giving up a haul for a goalie who is almost positively testing the free agency if he wants $8M+.

The Kings have options, the jets have to move Helle, not sure they have the leverage you think they do.

Honestly PLD to LA makes no sense, I genuinely think we are there to pump up the price and use the good will gained to broker a deal for Hellebuyck (if it’s not ludicrous as shown above)

Lol Habs fans, the coping is real. You snooze you loose. Just like how last year Tkachuk was 100% going to force his way to St. Louis

The fanbase thinking theyre getting Byfield and Vilardi for a 60pts guy calls out other fanbases for coping? And you think LA will somehow give 8.5M$/8 to PLD? Please. Cant wait till you get fleeced on both trades.

Im a habs fan, was just trying something but I agree its a lot from both MTL and LA. The way I see it, both teams are in a position where they can afford to give a little more assets than necessary to fill some needs. LA would be set and quite dangerous, adding one of the best goalies in the league, a powerforward RW and Clarke and Byfield on the come up. Harris and Farrell are expandables for MTL and imo we should use their value to go after a more established forward.

This is probably the best thing that could happen for Mtl franchise. PLD still leave up the hype of is 3rd overall selection. He is a good players but god he is overrated. Not worth mortgaging the futur especially when they are not ready to compete. It make absolutely no sense for a team that is building is foundation to gave up those king of assets. Nashville is probably the best spot for him, LA should use their assets to bring a top goalie. That probably their biggest need. Byfield could be has good a PLD right this season.

Kings could sign Andersen or Hill, they could obtain Ullmark for less and keep Vilardi, Pinelli, Iafallo and other assets. The smart move is to gain great goaltending without sacrificing active NHLers, this definitely doesn’t do that.

I dont see how you can gain great goaltending without sacrificing active NHLers. Ullmark is a vezina finalist, itll cost you assets to get him and then you'll have to move some to extend him. Same with Anderson or Hill, you'll have to clear cap space which means spending assets to do so. Gonna be complicated if they really plan on giving 8.5M$ to PLD.

We could sacrifice Arvidsson to gain the contract space without hurting the team long term. There are options way better than what’s shown.
