You basically got rid of Hall for free, I doubt you get a 2nd for Gryz

I don’t think that’s enough for Lindholm either

Sabres say yes, but why would Boston do this?

Very different cap hits for the two players but you might be right. It’s a weird market right now. Bruins were much more over a barrel with Hall, tho. With Hall out, the Bruins don’t HAVE to do anything else, but they sure do want to.

He would be a perfect partner for Jones. I think you massively underestimate him.

Would obviously try for more, but am trying to build one that isn’t filled with “x declines” comments.

Even w/ Bedard and now Hall, Hawks aren't trying to compete for anything this year. Giving up pick #44 for one year of Gryz is just poor asset management. I doubt he'd resign w/ Chicago without getting a significant overpay on his deal, and with all the LD prospects the Hawks have already, I'm not even sure they'd try to resign him. Not disputing his ability or the trade value. This just doesn't make sense from the Hawks side of things.

For a single year at ground zero of a rebuild with 4 if not 5 LHD prospects needing some icetime in the NHL this year and more coming next year. Grz is not even remotely close to being worth 44 to the Hawks.

Don’t really disagree but the scuttlebutt in the Boston Globe this AM was that there was a lot of Gryz discussion at the awards ceremony and the Hawks were in on it. No mention of return.

I'm sure the Hawks would be in on Gryz if the trade was similar to the Hall trade. Gryz to Hawks for a lesser prospect, a bottom of the roster player or maybe like a 4th rounder. But no way are they parting w/ pick #44.
